# Tefe Del Rosario-Bell > Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Frontend-leaning) | React • Next.js • TypeScript • Node.js | FinTech/Payments (ISO 20022) | UI as Product | Product Management Location: New York, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/tefe I’m a frontend-leaning full-stack engineer who prefers to treat UI as product—not decoration. Before software, I worked in video production and interactive media, where pacing, storytelling, and audience empathy weren’t “nice to haves”—they were the job. That background still shows up in how I build—especially on teams that value craft and clarity: clear flows, intentional details, and experiences that feel cohesive. Over the last 5+ years, I’ve built secure, scalable apps across React/Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript under real constraints: performance, reliability, and “this has to work Monday morning.” I’ve also worked in fintech/payments (incl. ISO 20022), so I’m comfortable in regulated environments where correctness and security are non-negotiable. I made the career transition deliberately (self-taught → interviewed into a competitive full-time engineering program), then taught/mentored as a PERN instructor while shipping production work—Salesforce-integrated tooling, and payments-enabled platforms with auth, dashboards, and admin workflows. I’m comfortable owning a feature end-to-end: discovery → architecture → UI → APIs → data → tests → deployment → docs. Outside of work, I build “real systems” to stay sharp—most recently a privacy-first edge AI home security stack (Home Assistant + Frigate) with RTSP IP cameras, MQTT eventing, and hardware-accelerated inference—plus the runbooks to keep it maintainable. ALSO, I see LLMs as a learning accelerator—tailoring explanations to my learning style, then following up with primary sources to validate details and guard against hallucinations. I've also been experimenting with agentic workflows for code generation and automation on personal projects, prioritizing spec-driven agentic workflow development, reproducibility, code review, and tests to validate changes. Also great for learning if done responsibly (/project-journal...). What to expect: • Product-minded frontend craft • Clear technical communication + calm collaboration • Practical architecture + tests that protect velocity • Developer-friendly workflows (Docker, CI/CD habits, observability) • Mentorship and team lift Core toolkit: TypeScript/JavaScript, React/Next.js, Node/Express, PostgreSQL, AWS (Cognito), Docker, CI/CD, Jest/RTL. I’m most excited by product-focused teams where frontend craft is valued and engineers have real ownership (fintech, creator tools, pragmatic AI/search, Bitcoin/Lightning-adjacent). If you need someone who can bridge “creative” and “correct,” ship the thing, and leave it better than they found it—let’s talk. ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Korn Ferry Jan 2021 – Present | New York, New York, United States Korn Ferry is a global organizational consulting firm. We work with our clients to design optimal organizational structures, roles, and responsibilities. We help them hire the right people and advise them on rewarding and motivating their workforce while developing professionals as they navigate and advance their careers. (I'm working with one client: withholding the company name in respect of Korn Ferry's confidentiality and privacy guidelines) ### Software Engineer | PERN Stack Instructor @ Nebula Academy Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | New York, New York, United States Served as a Software Engineer and PERN Stack Instructor in an early-stage edtech environment—leading cohort instruction and mentorship while also contributing to production engineering work. Partnered with leadership to shape technical direction, delivered and continuously improved a PERN + AWS curriculum, and built full-stack features and platforms—documenting code, processes, and curriculum updates to support repeatable delivery and scalable operations. Live Engineering Instruction (Real-Time Debugging + Algorithms): Ran daily live-coding sessions and technical deep dives, fielding real-time student questions and debugging unfamiliar issues on the spot. Taught practical problem solving (data structures, algorithms, and interview-style exercises) by translating abstract prompts into working code, tradeoffs, and clean implementation patterns—mirroring real developer workflows. Projects / Specific Work Bootcamp Instruction (PERN + AWS): Delivered a 3-month, project-based full-stack curriculum; led live instruction, exercises, code reviews, and mentorship focused on job readiness. Curriculum Modernization: Updated course materials with modern dev practices and tooling; documented changes/resources for consistent cohort delivery. Salesforce-Integrated Blog Feature: Built a full-stack blog feature (React, JS, HTML/CSS, Express) with Salesforce Apex supporting dynamic content and publishing workflows. Raffle Platform (Our Future Generation): Co-led architecture and development (React, Express, PostgreSQL) including AWS Cognito auth, JWT-secured APIs, Square payments, and admin dashboards. Technical Strategy & Leadership: Worked directly with the CEO to evolve the stack and translate product vision into an actionable engineering roadmap. ### Web Developer @ Self-Employed Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | New York, New York, United States Built and deployed custom HTML5 rich media ad units for Mass Appeal client FXStudio, integrating with Google Studio. Served as a web development consultant to a creative agency, partnering with designers/producers to translate creative concepts into performant, spec-compliant campaign assets across browsers and devices. Ensured deliverables met platform requirements (file size, load performance, click-through behavior). ### Software Engineering Fellow @ General Assembly Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | New York, New York, United States Selected as 1 of 25 from 1,200+ applicants for a full-time, 12-week software engineering program focused on building full-stack web applications with React and Java/Spring Boot, emphasizing modern tooling, testing, Agile delivery, and cloud deployment. Projects / Specific Work Unit 1 (Front-End Project): Built the front-end for a Reddit-like app with login, post creation, feed rendering, and commenting—using HTML/CSS and JavaScript fundamentals (DOM/events/APIs) and Git/GitHub workflows. Unit 2 (Backend Project): Implemented a Spring Boot + Postgres monolithic backend for the Unit 1 app, applying relational modeling + SQL/JPA/Hibernate and JWT-based API authentication. Infrastructure & Architecture: Worked through microservices concepts and delivery fundamentals including Docker, Kubernetes, deployment, and logs/monitoring. Capstone: Designed and built a full-stack application with a React front end and microservices back end, deployed to AWS, using pair programming and product-style deliverables (user stories, wireframes, README, consistent Git commit history). Testing & Delivery Practices: Practiced test-driven and component/API testing across the stack (Mocha/Chai, jUnit, Jest/Enzyme) alongside Agile/Scrum delivery. ### Video Producer & Editor @ TDRB Media Jan 2014 – Jan 2019 | New York, New York, United States Client work includes: The Global Poverty Project, Spark451, CLICKON Media, Nice Bike Productions, 1E Inc, Kurtosys Systems, and The Bella Abzug Leadership Institute. Produced end-to-end video projects for a range of clients across music, tech, media, marketing, and nonprofits—owning pre-production through delivery (planning, shooting, editing, audio, and final exports). Collaborated directly with stakeholders to translate goals into clear creative direction, manage timelines, and deliver polished, platform-ready content. ### Video Editor & Producer @ Mass Appeal Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | New York, New York, United States Collaborated cross-functionally with in-house producers, graphic designers, on-camera talent, recording artists, and the broader Creative Services team to plan, shoot, edit, and deliver video content for the company’s YouTube channel and client campaigns.
