As a math teacher turned software engineer, I’m passionate about designing experiences that carry social impact. During remote learning, I saw the power in tech to transform education, increasing engagement and equity of access. On my favorite math platform, Desmos, I learned their Computational Layer to program innovative, interactive, and student-centered lessons, which were then shared and implemented in my colleagues’ classes. This realization, that my potential impact extends beyond my own classroom, marked my start into software engineering.

After months of learning coding while full-time teaching, I enrolled in Hack Reactor, an advanced software engineering immersive program. After 1000+ hours of coding, I built full-stack web applications while working in an AGILE environment. 

Forever a proud teacher at heart, I’m excited to contribute my past skills and experiences along with my technical knowledge to the next team I’ll be on. I’ve had years of practice explaining difficult concepts to a variety of people in a variety of ways along with my fair share of conflict resolution. Plus, I love to nerd out about math problems and algorithms.
