# Therese Mushock > Product Design Leader | VR, AI & Consumer at Scale | Building teams that ship products people love Location: San Francisco Bay Area, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/theresemushock Design leader who builds AI-first platforms, products and teams at scale across emerging tech, 0-1, and consumer. I came to design through journalism and an MFA in graphic design, which gave me an unusual combination: intentional storytelling and an obsession with craft. At Meta I've led design across some of the company's highest-stakes consumer products — a $650M+ VR commerce platform, AI-integrated system search, a dating product serving 21.5M daily users, and navigation systems for 2.9B people. I've built a team of 24+ designers, managed managers, and earned 99% manager favorability — top 1% at Meta. I lead through service: building the talent, environment, and systems that make great design repeatable, while staying close to the work — elevating through sharp creative direction and proactive connection to company strategy. Before AI, that produced 10,000+ design debt issues surfaced, 75+ designers trained in quality practices, and a culture where craft and accountability reinforce each other. After AI, it's producing a culture where designers and partners are empowered to fix design issues on their own, making the product better and better every day. My take on what's next: pixel-perfect Figma as source of truth is mostly over. Designers wireframe intent, define acceptance criteria, and hand to AI to build. We become reviewers and polish owners — trained eyes that know when something is almost right. Deliverables shift; the craft doesn't. If you're building something ambitious — or need a design leader who can build the function alongside the product — I'd love to connect. ## Work Experience ### Senior Product Design Manager, Reality Labs @ Meta Jan 2022 – Present | Menlo Park, California, United States Led design for Meta Quest's Store, Monetization, and Search — the core discovery and commerce systems of a $650M+ VR platform.
