# Thomas Boyer, MFA, MEd > Human-Centric | Design Leadership | Product Visionary | ✨AI Leader | Design Strategy | Aesthete | Mentorship. Proper-football club owner Location: Sausalito, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/thomasboyermfamed Design is the *intentional* solution to a _problem_ within a set of [constraints]. The value of design is not to make a product look good, or better, nor is it to make that product function more efficiently or intuitively; the role of design is to know and understand user outcomes. What are they trying to achieve, what is a success, what are the barriers, what are the environments...? And it is this information which designers use to bring value into the product and increase adoption. I am a creative product leader who enjoys working collaboratively to refine output while mentoring those who want to learn more about user experience design. What does that mean? Well, in short, the design is not the objective, rather it is what can be built and how that will impact users. With a background in psychology, advanced human development, art, design, and education, I bring with me a skillset focused on a human-centered experience. As a designer, I leverage a wealth of knowledge from my experience in both the public and startup spaces so that I can best represent the user within the product. Often this collaborative space is fast-paced from concept to execution, allowing me to step in as an individual contributor as needed. However, the value I bring to a product and design team is the leadership and the know-how to get the job done. ## Work Experience ### UX Design Manager @ ZS Jan 2023 – Present I joined ZS as a part of a platform development revamp to oversee the Medical and Customer Engagement product towers.
