Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to develop and optimize software solutions for businesses of all sizes—from agile startups to Fortune 500 giants—helping them streamline operations and scale effectively in the ERP space. My specialties include architecting robust, fault-tolerant API integrations, optimizing large-scale data processing, and designing applications with clean, maintainable code. Whether it's improving system performance, automating complex workflows, or enhancing software architecture, I thrive on solving technical challenges that drive real business impact. ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Misfits Market Jan 2022 – Present • Led a project that syncs over 1 million Inventory Transactions a year from an in-house Warehouse Management System to NetSuite. Resulted in 50% processing time savings from 25 to 12 minutes by replacing a SOAP based Celigo integration • Created an integration with PHP, Airflow, and JavaScript that synced 31,000 billed Purchase Orders per year from an in-house Warehouse Management System to NetSuite, accounting for $202M worth of Purchase Orders each year • Launched an approval flow where Vendor Bills are either approved or rejected by AP team, VPs, Executives, and departments. Improved audits by replacing all email approvals and processed about 1100 Bills worth $7.5M per month • Implemented a B2B API integration with GoPuff where their invoices originate as EDI data from our in-house Warehouse Management System and are sent to NetSuite as Invoice records. Recorded $1.26M in monthly revenue • Orchestrated a real-time integration protocol by receiving Purchase Orders from our Warehouse Management System to NetSuite as Item Receipts, achieving synchronization of 83,000 records worth $191M each year • Established NetSuite CI/CD pipeline with GitHub Actions and maintained 80% test coverage using PHPUnit. Directed integration architecture discussions and participated in code reviews with engineering team. Led as Project Manager for all NetSuite initiatives • Monitored both NetSuite and the PHP Warehouse Management System production environments during a 24/7 on call schedule each month. Resolved about 200 IT Tickets per year by patching system bugs and correcting user errors ### Software Developer | NetSuite @ Oracle Jan 2021 – Jan 2022 • Accelerated QA testing by writing a collection of Map Reduce scripts that migrate 100k+ records to different Sandbox environments while preserving 4 layers of historical transactional relationships in those records • Produced an encumbrance accounting process that tracks at least 1000 monthly Purchase Order Requisitions that can be validated against budgeting data to forecast spending in the NetSuite for Government SuiteApp • Led my team’s SDF DevOps process by maintaining 6 different Sandboxes used for QA testing. Tracked each Sandbox as separate branches with git version control to facilitate incremental rollouts of various modules in the NetSuite for Government SuiteApp. Deployed app installs to customer’s production environments with the SuiteApp Control Center • Engineered automated reporting solutions by leveraging JavaScript Suitelets, Saved Searches, and Workbooks to track metrics such as auditing activity and General Ledger impact. Reduced manual reporting time by 150 hours per month ### NetSuite Engineer @ NutriDyn Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 • Maintained integrated systems for NetSuite, Celigo, and Magento by resolving errors related to sales, customers, products, and inventory transactions • Wrote a Map Reduce Script that removes duplicate addresses on customer records to clean up unwanted integration errors that were blocking Celigo processes • Led the creation of a new Sandbox environment for NetSuite, Celigo, and Magento to ensure that future customizations can be thoroughly tested ### Software Developer | NetSuite @ Encore Wire Corp Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 | Mckinney, Texas • Developed REST API integrations that facilitated all inventory transactions between NetSuite and a Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System to maintain 12 million feet of wire inventory a day • Transformed an old Excel-based approval process into a NetSuite workflow that processes 250+ new item requests for wire products each month while reducing SOX auditing time by over 80 hours per quarter • Led an integration between NetSuite and Blue Yonder that facilitates the transfer of 1000 PDF shipping documents a day that are each saved in the NetSuite File Cabinet and mapped to custom truck records for accurate record keeping • Implemented a change management API that syncs the deployment data from an Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) called Boomi to NetSuite, allowing EY auditors to review integration code deployments with Blue Yonder for SOX compliance on NetSuite Strongpoint Change Requests. This provides approval auditing in place of GitHub Pull Requests ### Sortation Associate @ Amazon Jan 2017 – Jan 2018 | 3838 Miller Rd Garland, TX 75041 • Trained new hires on how to operate scanning devices and sort packages to increase team performance • Loaded at least 500 packages a day onto delivery vehicles to ensure outgoing shipment for Amazon drivers ### Software Research Internship @ University of Texas at Dallas Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 | 800 W Campbell Rd, Richardson, TX 75080 • Developed a case study diagram that models the behavior of a clothes dryer safety system with Fault Trees and UML Statecharts • Utilized Visio to illustrate a syntax translation between Fault Trees and UML Statecharts • Provided research support for an improved software safety model in real time systems ## Education ### Bachelor of Science - BS in Computer Science The University of Texas at Dallas Jan 2014 – Jan 2018 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/thomas-dang --- Source: https://flows.cv/thomasdang JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/thomasdang/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-22
