# Thomas RICARD > Engineering @ Chime Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/thomasricard I am driven by projects that have a strong impact on the life of many. Whether they are businesses or customers, their experience and happiness is how I measure my own success. If I can help make their life easier and/or make them more successful, then I am all for it! I can adapt to different tech stacks: over the past 5 years, I've got to play with Python, Php, Ruby, Java, Groovy, a bit of Scala. Most recently, I have been mostly having fun with Python and React. ## Work Experience ### Staff Software Engineer @ Chime Jan 2022 – Present | San Francisco Bay Area Support teams that help give our members access to the liquidity they need. ### Staff Software Engineer, Enterprise Compliance @ Slack Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 | San Francisco, California, United States Helped provide our biggest enterprise customers with the tools they need to comply with all rules and regulations while using Slack. My other areas of focus included on-call rotation, technical roadmap, etc. Tech Stack was mostly PHP/Hacklang, MySQL/Vitess ### Staff Software Engineer @ Eventbrite Jan 2017 – Jan 2020 | San Francisco, California, United States After Pandora’s ticketing business (ex-Ticketfly) was acquired by Eventbrite, I started working on the checkout experience. Eventbrite was transitioning away from some old codebase to React/API. I worked mostly on the API side of things, scalability (make sure the checkout would not blow up during a big on-sale), feature-parity with old checkout experience (support for repeating events, invite-only events, wait list, multi methods of delivery, etc). From 2019 to 2020: Worked on the Event Creation experience for High Frequency Event Creators as the Lead Engineer. ### Staff Software Engineer @ Pandora Jan 2015 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco, California, United States Following the acquisition of Ticketfly by Pandora. - Helped with integrating our ticket transfer api with Lyte secondary market so fans can have a chance to go to sold out live events in a secure way (what is worse than showing up at the box office with an invalid ticket you paid $90 on Craigslist. No more). - Lead the project to integrate the ticketFly payment platform with Spreedly vault. - Helped the team deliver the new Refund application. Pandora ticketing business was acquired by Eventbrite in September 2017. ### Co-Founder & The Tech guy @ Les P'tits Mwana Jan 2012 – Jan 2017 | San Francisco Bay Area Les Ptits Mwana is a parenting website targeting French speaking people worldwide (lesptitsmwana.com) I did the whole thing from scratch(no CMS) in Ruby On Rails, javascript, MySQL. Everything is hosted in Linode (AWS is damn too expensive). Added a section where expecting mother could search for birth stories (and mom could share theirs). For that I went with ElasticSearch so that moms can do faceted search on many criteria. Also uses Redis to manage the list of subscriptions to articles or comments so that people get notified when someone likes their comment or responds to a thread they contributed to. 🐣Pretty cool and I learnt a lot. I did not sleep a lot when I was actively working on it. ### Senior Software Engineer @ Ticketfly Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | San Francisco, California, United States At TicketFly I wore many hats and was part of many fun and impactful projects: -Helped with developing and testing a Rest API for TicketFly RFID partners to deliver a seamless festival experience (Wrist bands). - Helped deliver on-time the Ticket Transfer feature for Burning Man. Users now have the ability to securely transfer tickets to each others. Also helped deliver that feature through the TicketFly Box Office application. In all those projects, the tech involved: Grails Groovy Ember Javascript Scala MySql AWS Selenium Gatling and a bunch of others... It's at TicketFly that I started to get more into agile methodologies. I became a Scrum master in March 2017. 🤘🎸TicketFly was acquired by Pandora in Oct 2015. ### Lead Developer @ OneUp.com Jan 2008 – Jan 2014 | San Francisco Once an on-premise Java ERP, myERP.com was migrated to the WEB.
