Revamped system of financial and clinical holds used by internal Electronic Medical Record (EMR/EHR) service. Split project into three main phases that was completed over the course of eight months. Managed two additional engineers and leveraged their strengths to complete subtasks in parallel. Outcome: reduced average time of a hold by 50% and decreased the rate of new holds by 15%. Delighted patients with a faster start to their treatment.
Integrated company’s manufacturing team into company’s internal electronic medical record (EMR) service. Collaborated with manufacturing team to develop additions to EMR’s task management system to support their unique workflows. Developed system to save and share custom workflows to promote even further efficiency. Outcome: reduced average time for a manufacturing team member to complete a task by 10%.
Regularly collaborated with product managers and stakeholders to develop requirements of features.
Identified shortcomings of current system and produced actionable plans to adopt new technologies. For example, researched different database tools, and built a plan to adopt one that would greatly improve both application performance and developer efficiency.

Designed and implemented how questions, responses to questions, and user settings for HomeWiseDocs’ support of lender and appraiser questionnaires are stored in the database.
Designed and implemented a system to calculate, apply, and track the taxes owed on an order. Company is now able to conduct business in Hawaii. Design is future-proofed for other states with similar tax legislation.
Designed and implemented an automatic email system for the main website. Whenever a user takes a specific action, a customized email is sent to each relevant party. Increases traffic through the main website and improves user perception of the HomeWiseDocs brand.
Designed and implemented the core payment system of the main website. System handles various payment options including, but not limited to, credit cards, e-checks, and deferred payment. Most importantly, system improves user experience by providing a seamless, reliable, and secure way to pay for their orders.
Wrote hundreds of integration tests for the backend. Ensures that users have access to the main website and can use it without encountering any bugs.
