# Todd Bergman > Software Engineer @Assembled Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/toddbergman Let's build something together! Please reach out to me with any questions or inquiries! ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Assembled Jan 2024 – Present | San Francisco, California, United States ### Senior Software Engineer @ Fastly Jan 2022 – Jan 2024 | San Francisco, California, United States At Fastly, I played a key role in creating and maintaining our design system, collaborating closely with frontend application engineers and designers to ensure consistency and quality across our products. I was instrumental in developing and scaling our React component library, with a strong focus on accessibility to ensure that our products are usable by everyone. I also spearheaded the development of our design tokens tooling, streamlining the process of maintaining design consistency across our applications. Additionally, I built out our icons library, which was directly synchronized with a designer-maintained Figma file, ensuring that our visual assets were always up-to-date and accurately reflected our brand's identity. A major part of my work involved helping Fastly migrate from Ember to React, a significant shift that improved our frontend architecture. Throughout this process, I mentored engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to elevate our team's overall proficiency and productivity. ### Software Engineer @ OpenLattice Jan 2018 – Jan 2022 | San Francisco Bay Area OpenLattice is helping tackle mass incarceration and the opioid epidemic by enabling state and local governments to implement interventions based on data driven workflows deployed against structured data from across government systems. ### Graduate Engineer - Diagnostics Group @ Walter P Moore Jan 2015 – Jan 2018 | Houston, Texas Provided assessment, testing, analysis, design, and construction administration services to diagnose restoration needs and engineer necessary repairs to existing structures. Assessment plans were tailored to project requirements and often include nondestructive testing and materials testing to understand the condition of the existing construction. Served as a resident expert of Life-Cycle Analysis and Life-Cycle Cost Analysis for all WPM practice areas. Developed multiple engineering analysis tools using Python in Grasshopper, a plugin for the modeling software, Rhino. Tools included corrosion prediction of reinforced concrete, life-cycle analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, and stability of mechanically stabilized earth walls. ### Research Assistant - SIMLAB @ University of Colorado Boulder Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | Boulder, CO Integrating service-life and life-cycle assessment for recycled aggregate concrete. Developed analytic and numerical models to predict the service-life of reinforced concrete in order to make comparisons between the use of virgin aggregate and recycled aggregate. ### Lead Structural Engineer - Engineers Without Borders @ Washington University in St. Louis Jan 2011 – Jan 2013 | Greater St. Louis Area Worked with Mek'ele School for the Blind in Mek'ele, Ethiopia, to decrease the campus' dependence on city water by the repair and retrofit of an existing water tower. Performed all structural analysis hand calculations. Created RISA Model of structure: operating, wind, seismic, and tank loads. Designed rebar layout and concrete mix for top slab of tower. Traveled to Ethiopia in May 2012 and January 2013 for implementation trip. ### Teaching Assistant - Structural Analysis @ Washington University in St. Louis Jan 2012 – Jan 2012 Held office hours biweekly, and graded course material. Helped to create outline for course notes. ## Education ### Master of Science - MS University of Colorado Boulder ### Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
