I didn’t think it was possible to find a career that I loved until I found programming.

My problem was that I had interest in too many things, so I dabbled in a little bit of everything. Creatively I was thrilled to have an Art History degree, write and perform comedy, and even work as a marketing professional. I loved my creative background and experience, but I needed something more. 

I decided to go back to school and get a Physics degree. It was pursuing that degree where I was introduced to coding. I was hooked immediately. Finally, I found a career path that would meld my need to be creative with my want to be analytical and solve problems, because the beauty of programming is that there is never just one correct solution, but thousands of paths to reach the desired outcome. For the first time in my life I knew exactly what I wanted to, so after I graduated, I went full steam ahead into developing my coding skills.

I landed my first job as a software engineer, where I found myself learning faster than ever because now, I was fueled by passion for the work. In only 3 months I was assigned the project lead of completely rebuilding the consumer-facing application, which involved rewriting the front end in Typescript while implementing React Hooks, upgrading all packages, introducing industry standard linting rules, redesigning and improving the UX using Material UI, and adding basic accessibility compliance – all in less than 50% of the amount of code used previously. This was launched to production before my 1-year anniversary at the company.

All while also building out, maintaining, bug fixing, completing third-party API integrations, and adding new features to the lender/investor facing application and the in-house, employee facing platform. I also enjoyed developing custom, full stack reporting features using Golang and GORM on the backend to generate the reports from the database and JavaScript on the front end to make them accessible. I love programming and am constantly searching for opportunities to learn more and build amazing things!

## Work Experience
### Software Engineer @ Credibility Capital Inc.
Jan 2019 – Jan 2023
Designed and rebuilt consumer-facing application's frontend in less than a year utilizing 50% less code than before. This involved upgrading to TypeScript, implementing React Hooks, redesigning the UX, adding basic accessibility compliance, and introducing industry-standard linter rules for code quality.

Developed an internal REST API to securely ingest loan applications directly from partners. This included, request validation, informative error messaging, implementing risk analysis logic and returning the result, and writing all the documentation for each endpoint in Postman.

Integrated code base with over 15 third-party APIs, including Plaid, which consisted of creating the data models for internal storage, parsing the response and using it to implement the logic and calculations required to determine risk scores and eligibility for loan applicants.

Coordinated with executive leadership, loan analysts, data scientists, and third parties to establish project requirements and develop customized application features to automate manual tasks and streamline the underwriting process.
