These processes led to not only cleaner more consistent code bases, but reduced our month over month incident count and incident duration significantly, ensuring a more stable end product from the entire engineering department. Oversaw architecture and planning of 6 independent software teams. Provided guidance on building towards incremental business value by delivering the smallest possible changes at a time. Coached team leads on how to work with stakeholders, management, and PMs to effectively deliver on time. Assisted in documenting and updating dozens of projects across the Arrive ecosystem Worked with Vp and C level leadership to build the roadmap to not only achieve the long term goals of Arrive, but also scale the system to support more shipments per day while improving development time and reducing fragility of the entire system ### Staff Software Engineer @ Arrive Logistics Jan 2020 – Jan 2024 Coached other engineers on design and implementation for full stack projects. Examples include: - How to structure Front End components for reusability - Database design for large scale features to ensure logical data structure and allow for analysis throughout the lifecycle of our shipments - REST implementation and how to structure logic API patterns Led teams to deliver large scale projects including: - An automated carrier pitching and alerting system when a shipment meets necessary requirements. This provided massive productivity increases for our carrier teams as it would automatically get specified carriers attached to new shipments without any additional internal work. Result: 5%, and increasing each month, of our shipments get carriers attached with no forager interaction whatsoever. (Node, Lambda, AWS step functions, Postgres) - Change data capture system for our database. Provided the ability to monitor who/what/where/when for any user interaction in our database. Also allowed the business to easily audit sales and operations interactions with shipments to ensure our employees are providing the best experience to our customers. Result: Allowed monitoring and coaching of sales and ops reps based on how often they were interacting with carriers/shipments/customers resulting in the ability to handle more volume with the same number of team members. (Node, Postgres, MongoDB) - Pricing and cost data overhaul. Adjusted all buying and selling UI workflows, migrated all historical data, and updated every API that interacted with cost data to ensure consistent data and user experience across platforms. This project gives the company the ability to analyze and adjust our automated pricing based on all prior shipment and carrier cost by normalizing all income and expense data across the system (React, Node, Postgres) ### Senior Software Engineer @ Arrive Logistics Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 Led several large feature projects including: - Duplicating and creating shipment templates for users who create the same shipment time and time again (React, Node, Postgres) - Integrating with 3rd party insurance tracking to ensure carriers hauling for us are valid carriers for the shipments they are taking (Node, Postgres, Typescript) - Integrating with 3rd part geolocation tracking to monitor where our shipments are in real time (Node, React, Postgres) ### Senior Software Engineer @ DRIVIN powered by KAR Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 Currently working on a modernization of an old hybrid application. This holds all the documentation for all of Uptakes viewable APIs, as well as interactivity, proxies, and key generation for consuming APIs. Technology Used: React.js, Hapi.js, Jest, enzyme, Immutable.js, Redux, custom designed UI components Data Ingestion Platform UI: Worked on several cross functional teams to create a data ingestion tool to allow customers to define a local schema and a target, apply data alteration steps, and view metrics around their real time data flow. This project handled all of the data flow, as well as errors, user management, and metrics around speed and accuracy of data. Technology Used: Angular 1.5, Bootstrap (custom alteration), nginx, Jasmine, Node, UI-grid, scss ### Web Development @ Startup Institute Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Chicago, IL Selected from a highly-competitive applicant pool for an eight-week education program.
