Member of the team that supports Apache Hadoop and the supporting infrastructure at LinkedIn. The infrastructure is made up of 389 Directory Server (LDAP), MIT Kerberos, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, BCFG2 (configuration management), Cobbler, Ganglia, HBase, and OpenTSDB. I participated in the initial migration from 0.20.2 to 1.x with security and later drove the migration from 1.x to 2.x from the infrastructure side while also assisting with user workflow migration and debugging. I also drove the low latency SQL-on-Hadoop PoC which involved deploying and configuring Apache Tajo, Facebook Presto, and Cloudera Impala on top of Apache Hadoop. While my primary focus is on Hadoop administration, I also spend a lot of time on automation (BCFG2), metrics collection (Ganglia / OpenTSDB), and other general system administration related duties.

Responsibilities include: OpenLDAP / MIT Kerberos 5 for authentication, Oracle and MySQL databases, Apache/PHP webserver, Bind9 DNS servers, NFS servers on redundant RAID 6 file servers, kickstart server for Linux workstation deployment with Windows VMs running on VirtualBox, and hardware support.
