As Manager, Ride Experience, I oversaw several business units that sat at the intersection of brand, product, operations, and the in-car experience. In this role, I built and managed in-app and real-life programs that enhanced and differentiated the Lyft experience for users of the ride-share service. I also managed a team of 3.
These include:
* Promotional Modes - Thematic, elevated ride types and custom transportation solutions. Many of these were the output of strategic partnerships or brand partnerships with partners like Disney, Anheuser-Busch, Netflix, Google, HBO, and more. A few highlights include:
• Minnie Van, a permanent solution that brought ride-share to Walt Disney World Resorts
• Base Mode, a partnership with the US Department of Defense that launched a custom ride type designed for the needs of military members and their families
• Green Mode, a ride type piloted in Seattle that facilitated pickup in electric-only vehicles
*In-App Personalization - I worked with various product and business development teams to build a several layers of targeted, in-app customizations. These would change the car icons to visibly celebrate seasonal moments, partnerships with celebrities and influencers, or local brands and sports teams.
*Round Up & Donate - A social impact platform that allows passengers to round up their fare to the nearest dollar, then donate the difference to a cause of their choice. The program has raised millions of dollars in rider donations to charity partners like the HRC, the ACLU, WWF, and more.
*Amp - The bluetooth-connected illuminated hardware device that sits at the front of each and every ride. This is a hallmark of the Lyft experience and served as a cost-effective out-of-home marketing channel for brand awareness.
