# Trevor Aron > solana @ alchemy Location: Brooklyn, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/trevoraron I like security, distributed systems, and crypto. Currently at alchemy where I was acquired. Previously founder of doormat.xyz - a new way to manage cryptocurrency keys Formerly a software engineer at Coinbase working on key management systems. Formerly a software engineer at Facebook working on their Content Delivery Network. I am a creator of Spire - an intrusion tolerant tolerant and secure SCADA system for power grids (http://www.dsn.jhu.edu/spire/) ## Work Experience ### Engineer @ Alchemy Jan 2025 – Present | New York, United States solana ### Founder @ Doormat Wallet Jan 2022 – Jan 2025 | Brooklyn, NY founder / ceo of doormat, a new way to manage crypto keys. built embedded wallet tech, raised 1.5m, built out a team of 6, brought web and mobile trading terminal product to market on evm and solana, oversaw GTM / marketing, onboarded 1000 users, gaining over $2m in deposits at peak with $1m in total spot trading volume acquired by alchemy ### Senior Software Engineer @ Coinbase Jan 2020 – Jan 2022 ♣ On crypto applications team, built backend evm wallet / indexer service to manage a new wallet product within the main app that utilizes MPC signing to secure keys ♣ Led async integration with threshold signing service using Kafka ♣ Implemented support for encoding and signing all the core evm signature formats ♣ Built out wallet’s smart contract integration support and authored supporting multicall solidity contract ♣ Previously worked on the Key Management team, building systems of differing levels of security and availability to store private keys with billions of dollars of cryptocurrency on them ♣ Designed and then lead a team of three engineers to build Wallet Orchestrator – a full stack system to move cryptocurrency around from our different key storage tiers (hot / cold / threshold) based on amounts, insurance rates, and availability. Built the service using Docker, Golang, Cadence, and GRPC ♣ Implemented mutual authentication to our threshold key system using Yubihsm, Golang, JWTs Worked cross functionally with Security, Product, and other teams to unlock support for multiple regions ### Software Engineer @ Coinbase Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 ### Software Engineer @ Facebook Jan 2017 – Jan 2019 | San Francisco Bay Area I worked on the CDN Team in the Traffic Org. Specifically, my work involved making software to manage Facebook's globally distributed fleet load balancers. I have built tooling to support configuration development, automated cluster management lifecycle, creating testing tools to ensure that config changes don't cause failures, worked on modifying our configuration to a declarative approach, and have built a release engine for configs I worked fullstack and handled deployment and operations for services. My work required building Web UIs in React for users to interact with the CDN, Python APIs to handle most backend logic, and have worked in C++17 and Lua to add changes to our load balancers ### Lead Blockchain Architect @ Atana Jan 2018 – Jan 2018 Designed the protocol and infrastructure for the initial version of the Atana medical research platform which was used to support companies securely sharing medical research data, users selling their data to researchers, and creating an audit trail of operations. Developed the protocol using a hybrid blockchain approach for high performance -- combining Ethereum for payments and decentralized key exchange and Hyperledger Fabric for storing metadata of encrypted user data. Developed CHAD - a cryptographic hash association database which supports storing encrypted information in both IPFS and enterprise databases depending on client needs. Used Docker and Hyperledge Composer for infrastructure deployment ### Software Engineer Intern in Data Infrastructure @ Facebook Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Menlo Park Worked on the DIET team (Data infrastructure efficiency team) at Facebook. Developed a framework to allow engineers to build applications to reap unused data. Deployed this as a thrift service. Developed a use case that got rid of unused hive imports that saved large amounts of data ### Research Intern, DSN Lab @ Johns Hopkins University Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 I worked on building intrusion tolerant SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for the powergrid. I have been involved with the architectural design of our proposed system (which uses Prime, a Byzantine fault tolerant algorithm with performance guarantees under attack for intrusion tolerance), and have built SCADA scenarios using pvbrowser and C/C++. ### Course Assistant, Intermediate Programming @ Johns Hopkins University Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 I helped students gain an understanding of C, C++ and Unix while guiding them in assignments and answering questions. I gained testing experience while grading assignments and learned to give detailed feedback. ### Intern in Web Analytics @ The Hartford Jan 2014 – Jan 2014 I facilitated discussion and worked in the production of my team's Sharepoint Website and work intake system that is still in use. I also wrote VBA scripts to analyze population data and to automate report sheet production. Learned about web tagging and website user tracking ## Education ### Masters in Computer Science The Johns Hopkins University ### Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Computer Science The Johns Hopkins University ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/trevoraron --- Source: https://flows.cv/trevoraron JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/trevoraron/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-13
