Throughout my life, I have always recognized the importance of analyzing the social systems of race, gender, and class, and how each is imperative in shaping an individual’s existence. I used art and reading as a way to challenge the negative fallacies that had been indoctrinated within me. After graduating highschool, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Delaware State University with a minor in Womens and Gender Studies. This cultivated an urge for me to focus on the experience of women of color. I’m interested in creating and learning about technology that helps and supports marginalized communities. As a software engineer at Resilient Coders, I hope to merge technology and art that centers dispossessed communities and elevates those communities through the use of storytelling and visual expression.
