— I was the CTO’s first engineering hire, when the company was pre Series A and <20 employees.

— After the Series A, we hired a second front end engineer. Together, we rebuilt the front end in React using Susy, SASS, and BEM methodology while reskinning it with a new style guide.

— I designed a personalized news/activity feed with the goal of helping users discover polls, discussions, and articles in 10 e-commerce communities, and helped build out the FE of the feed.

— Designed articles/knowledge base with the goal of introducing users to new communities (e.g. mechanical keyboards, quilting, fountain pens), improve SEO, and highlighting users who are experts in each community.

— Introduced company to a better goal-oriented design process, focusing on a mix of competitive analysis, data-driven design goals, better communication, and better tools.

— Sourced and hired a design contractor and the company's first full-time product designer.
