What does it take to make a design team great?

I've spent 20 years answering that question by building products and the teams behind them at Amazon, Google, Disney, and beyond.

At Google, I led design across Assistant experiences on more than a billion devices spanning TV, automotive, wearables, and ambient computing. At Amazon, I led design for Prime Video's global partner ecosystem, helped shift a service-based team toward a more design-led operating model, and shaped the principles behind the next generation of AI-enabled tools.

I'm a craft-led, hands-on leader. I care about helping designers grow, about building careers worth having, and about helping teams create experiences that improve people's lives. And I'm energized by the organizational side of design: the operating models, the feedback structures, and the moments when a team stops reacting and starts leading.

I also host Pixel Pirates, a podcast about how designers and leaders can grow, adapt, and thrive in an AI-native era.
