Designed the service interactions to meet the stringent time to run fraud rules and models while loading extensive amount of data from databases, caches and through other services. Typically the time taken to run such interactions would be 600-800ms but we were able to achieve it in less than 250ms. This was achieved by creating an early start event to trigger the fraud evaluation. Created new services for running fraud models and rules to approve or decline a PayPal credit application. Created scalable application services, so that multiple flows could reuse the same service and interactions. Expansion for countries like UK, Germany was done with minimal code changes. Created reusable architecture that new product was delivered with record time of 15 days, which was not the case with previous interactions. The same pipeline is now being used for all the consumer credit interactions. Developed both REST and SOAP services and interaction of these services. Have done code-reviews, supported E2E tests, and analyzed bugs. On boarded and mentored a team of 8 people to develop, test and deliver. Was the single point of contact for cross-domain and end-to-end integrations. This was by far the most biggest project in PayPal history. And turns out to be the most successful project as well.
