# Vaughn Bullock > console.log('Happy2025!') Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/vaughnbullock Going strong with a decade of experience, I've become proficient in both Client and Server-side development. My recent work has been focused on structuring consumer facing applications and interfaces to craft intuitive and friendly websites and mobile apps. For front-end development I prefer React or Vue.js frameworks allowing for easy code organization and maintenance. For back-end development I prefer NodeJS to encase the entire project on all sides with JavaScript. Second from NodeJS would be my preference for Ruby on Rails for the ease of creating relationships with databases. My latest side project has been on the integration of the Signal Protocol (a secure means of encrypted messaging) into NativeScript – a mobile application framework that supports Angular/Vue. NativeScript builds native phone applications, a new venture for me from my previous work creating "webapps". I am always reading up and learning about the newest technologies and concepts that could find use in current and future projects, and I am hoping to continue my education to eventually work on large-scale applications or technologies. You can follow me or my work through Twitter (@pixxlated) or Github (manbearpixel). ## Work Experience ### Senior Software Engineer @ Cube Group, Inc. Jan 2024 – Jan 2025 | Chicago, Illinois, United States I led a strategic assessment of a trading and account management web app, optimizing UX through a redesigned onboarding flow with a third-party KYC provider, reducing confusion and increasing completion rates. I spearheaded multiple high-impact initiatives, including a full overhaul of the cash and crypto deposit interface, simplifying access and significantly boosting cash on-ramping. Additionally, I developed a full-scale mobile mini-game within Telegram, which grew to nearly 800,000 users in three months, supporting up to 20,000 daily players. Towards the end of my tenure, I helped integrate a trading platform into the app, enhancing it with a mobile-only stacking game, in-game mods, bonuses, and an integrated crypto podcast to deepen user engagement. ### Senior Software Engineer @ PayPal Jan 2021 – Jan 2024 | Remote I played a key role in enhancing the checkout experience by implementing Pay-In-4 functionality between 2021 and 2022. I then transitioned to the Cryptocurrency team, where I contributed to the launch of several major features for PayPal’s Crypto Consumer profile. My work was instrumental in the successful rollout of the PYUSD stablecoin, enabling seamless asset conversion between PYUSD and other digital currencies. In 2024, I was selected to lead a specialized team focused on delivering high-impact improvements, including a major framework revision that enabled the crypto web application to be packaged via Module Federation in Webpack 5, enhancing scalability and modularity across the platform. ### Software Engineer @ Enova International Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Chicago, Illinois, United States I drove user growth by integrating Plaid for income verification, streamlining the application process for both new and existing users. I enhanced internal user testing to gain deeper insights into audience behavior and interaction patterns. Additionally, I led a large-scale refactoring initiative, modernizing the outdated Ruby front-end by transitioning to Vue.js, which significantly improved navigation response times and enabled better componentization of shared designs. ### Technical Advisor | UI Engineer @ Odin Blockchain Jan 2018 – Jan 2021 ### Lead UI Engineer @ Odin Blockchain Jan 2018 – Jan 2020 Leading the design and development efforts for front facing consumer applications and interfaces at a privacy focused blockchain start-up based in Europe. I work closely with the current team and community to help build a strong and accessible platform. ### UI Engineer @ World Headquarters Inc. Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Chicago At WHQ, I navigated a fast-paced consulting environment, balancing multiple projects while making quick, strategic decisions. I developed several interactive MVPs, refining original designs and user journeys to establish clear development roadmaps. My work with one of WHQ’s largest clients improved their organizational structure by transitioning their outdated BackboneJS + jQuery setup into a modern, reusable React component library, enhancing scalability and maintainability. ### UI Engineer II @ Enova International Jan 2015 – Jan 2018 | Chicago, IL My focus was to both maintain and revitalize the Front-End architecture/design of Enova's UK lending platforms as well as present a better experience for the end user in order to encourage more engagement and organic growth. I created an asset library packaged within a Ruby Gem in order to share code, styles, and components across the UK websites. This led to a streamlined development process and modularization of the codebase. One of the last large projects I worked on utilized the asset library during the redesign of a contract page which led to a 20% reduction in page load time, and an increase of 24% signed loans. The result of which net roughly £960k in annual revenue. This redesign focused on a mobile-first approach and ensured the experience for 80% of our traffic was optimized and usable. ### Lead Website Developer @ TouchVision TV Jan 2014 – Jan 2015 | West Loop, Chicago IL Initially maintained their outdated website ran in Objective-J / Cappuccino, I have now fully developed from scratch a clean and efficient responsive website run on AngularJS.
