# Victoria Bowen > Associate Software Engineer at Veeva Location: Greater Boston, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/victoriabowen I am currently a fourth year at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, and I am expected to graduate in 2023. I have grown to love computer science because it enables me to create software that has a positive impact in the lives of others. Through my personal projects and internship experience, I have developed a strong interest in designing and developing applications with the end user experience in mind. I look forward to expanding my skillset and my passion for computer science through co-op opportunities! ## Work Experience ### Software Engineer @ Veeva Systems Jan 2023 – Present | Boston, Massachusetts, United States ### Software Engineering and DevOps Co-op @ Outcomes4Me Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States Throughout my time at Outcomes4Me, I had the opportunity to work in both backend development and DevOps. I developed API endpoints, through the use of TypeScript, Iterable webhooks, and a Redis store, for the recording, viewing, and modifying of user notifications. As part of my DevOps responsibilities, I configured AWS infrastructure through the use of Terraform and implemented application monitoring with Datadog for API, mobile, and web applications. When I modified existing processes, I also updated documentation and distributed it to engineers. ### Tech Consulting Executive Committee @ TAMID at Northeastern Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States As a member of TAMID at Northeastern, I served on the tech consulting executive committee as the foundations lead. As the tech consulting foundations lead, I crafted an education curriculum for future software developers involved in the tech consulting track. Throughout the semester, I co-authored a textbook which will serve as an introductory learning resource for the software developers. The textbook includes introductory chapters and resources covering the following topics: user interface diagrams, web development, JavaScript, frameworks, version control, databases, and APIs. ### Natural Horsemanship Instructor and Camp Counselor @ Fernwood Cove Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 | Harrison, Maine, United States Over the summer, I worked as an instructor of natural horsemanship at Fernwood Cove, a sleep-away camp for girls in Harrison, Maine. Alongside two other instructors, I taught lessons five days a week to girls ranging from second to ninth graders. Each day we had six lessons that were each about an hour long. Under my responsibilities as an instructor, I also contributed to all of the barn chores, including feeding the horses, cleaning the stalls, and organizing equipment. In addition to my instructor responsibilities, I also helped out with other aspects of camp, such as bunk life. ### Software Development Co-op @ Chewy Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Designed and developed the frontend and backend of a form building platform with Vue.js, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL that employees will use for the creation and completion of internal forms. In the design phase of the application, I expanded my user interface design skills through the completion of user interface mockups and prototypes with Figma. Throughout the design and development of the application, I collaborated regularly with one other team member. ### Project Manager @ TAMID at Northeastern Jan 2021 – Jan 2021 Managed a team of five developers, alongside a co-manager. Our team developed an augmented reality graffiti application that will serve as a sample application for an Israeli start-up called ReSight, the creator of an SDK that is used for the development of augmented reality applications. Under my responsibilities as a project manager, my co-manager and I communicated weekly with our client, ReSight, to discuss the project trajectory. Each week, we also planned user stories and aided in the development of the graffiti application. ### Software Developer @ TAMID at Northeastern Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 Consulted with an Israeli start-up, MyFavorEats, which develops an online recipe tool that provides personalized recipes to its users. As a team, my peers and I modified and improved upon the current website in terms of the HTML/CSS to improve its functionality and appearance. ### Discrete Structures Teaching Assistant @ Northeastern University Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Boston, Massachusetts, United States As a discrete structures teaching assistant, I present material and answer questions related to the course content or homework during virtual office hours (four days a week). In addition, I grade and provide feedback on weekly homework assignments. ### Software Development Intern @ Chewy Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 For the duration of my internship at Chewy, I worked on a kiosk application that will be used by Chewy employees to record labor functions that they are switching between throughout the day. To complete the functionality of this application, I had the opportunity to work on all aspects of the project including the design of the user interface, the implementation of the Spring Boot API, and the implementation of the Vue.js user interface. In addition to the aforementioned functionality, I also implemented resiliency features through the use of an AWS SQS Queue, AWS Lambda, and caching functionality in both the API (Ehcache and Spring Boot caching) and UI (Vuex Store and Vuex Persistence). While developing the application, I also made changes to the user interface with the goal of optimizing the amount of time spent at the kiosk and reducing physical interactions with the kiosk and any related components. The reduction of the number of surfaces an employee would be required to interact with was an important feature at the time because of the COVID-19 precautions. ### Website Assistant @ Northeastern University Jan 2020 – Jan 2020 | Boston, Massachusetts For my second semester at Northeastern, I worked with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH) at Northeastern University. I provided technology assistance by working alongside the CSSH coordinator of online teaching and learning to ensure the smooth transition of course materials to Canvas. ### Assistant Tutor @ Kumon Math and Reading Center of Leominster Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Leominster, Massachusetts For the summer following my senior year, I worked at the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Leominster. At the center, I graded students' work packets in a timely manner, helped students with the challenging problems, and aided the younger students with the completion of their work packets. ## Education ### Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Northeastern University ### High School Diploma Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science at WPI ### Lunenburg High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/victoria-anastasia-bowen --- Source: https://flows.cv/victoriabowen JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/victoriabowen/resume.json Last updated: 2026-03-28
