Owned the core experience design of commissioning a SPAN Panel by creating a consistent design language, modular structures within hardware (Tesla, Enphase, and Remote Meter), error handling patterns for real-time validation, and innovating the core commissioning flow to reduce time and support burden. I Also vetted applicants and conducted the UX research portion of the interview as well as design challenge critiques. ### User Experience Designer/Developer @ BuildCo Jan 2019 – Jan 2019 | Austin, Texas Area • Designed and developed a new Squarespace-powered company portfolio site increasing exposure of the contractor and improving accessibility of information for prospective clients through enriched copy and apropos FAQs. • Rebranded the company through copy, logo refresh, and extended color palettes/visual vernacular. • Optimized change-order creation/flow (reducing time, error, and budgetary holds) through the design and implementation of a simple web tool that completes calculations and compiles all change-orders for projects cumulatively into one pdf for bank submission and approval. ### User Experience Designer @ VicFlo Design Jan 2016 – Jan 2018 | Leiden, Netherlands As a freelancer in the Netherlands, I consulted on a diverse range of design projects with early-stage Dutch, German, and American companies. Lead UX/UI Designer; Yimify (Munich, DE) • Designed scaleable web-app MVP while working closely with stakeholders to decipher initial wireframes and streamline user flows. • Translated initial brand into a functional and consistent UI design system, from layout to color and typography. • Coded interactive prototypes for the advertiser/influencer sides of the Yimify marketing engagement platform. Deliverables included the entire advertiser side of the Yimify platform (Messaging, Campaign Tracking, Payments, Search, etc.) as well as the influencer onboarding, profile, and overview sections. Experience Designer; MMEK (Utrecht, NL) • Utilized strategic design processes to unearth proposal concept and with MMEK' founders for Dutch European Medical Authority (EMA) creative bid project. • Conducted extensive research and brainstormed with founders to develop MMEK's proposal from ideation to refined direction. • Created data visualization and compiled a data set of the WHO ATC index of pharmaceuticals. • Modeled interactive/experiential cloud chandelier for 'Big Pharma' design proposal. Branding and UX Designer; Apple to Oyster (Denver, CO) • Formulated succinct brand/identity vision and guides for web-app MVP (logo, typography, color palette, and UI models). • Designed an interactive prototype of the ML-driven e-commerce product homepage faithful to the brand. After three phases of prototyping and physical installments, it is now permanently on Market Street at a cafe. • Designed and developed the Stanford Architectural Design Program's anniversary invitation website. • Created conceptual contributions and mocks for a private collaboration with Google. ### CS247 Teaching Assistant : HCI Design Studio @ Stanford University Jan 2015 – Jan 2015 • Assisted guest instructor Jofish Kaye in facilitating the Data Narratives studio, including assisting with in-class presentations, notes, and critique. • Graded and composed detailed critique for students/group assignments. • Served as a guide for students in the studio outside of class through office hours/tutoring. • Prepared any needed materials for studio-section and special lecture activities. • Set up piazza groups and organized section enrollment placements. • Led event planning for final presentations event planning catering, schedules, diagramming group arrangments for quick-install, and creating custom critique forms for judges and instructors. ### Research Assistant/Designer @ Stanford University Graphics Group Jan 2012 – Jan 2014 | Stanford Graphics Lab • Collaborated with Ph.D. Niels Joubert and PIs Pat Hanrahan and Stuart Card to formulate a novel approach to digital book design and narrative experience. • Utilized HCI research techniques to develop a digital book design framework and methodology for the E-Textbook Project (Codex). • Synthesized visual research, interaction design techniques, template precedents, and aesthetic analyses of book layout principles in order to ideate and prototype model features of a future system. • Conducted extensive analyses on book design historically, in particular Edward Tufte's design philosophy on Visual Explanations. ### Web Development Fellow @ American Conservatory Theater Jan 2013 – Jan 2014 • Created multi-platform marketing assets consistent with the visual brand language of current season's productions. • Designed and implemented regular patron emails after first optimizing email template code and layout. • Batch processed photography and wrote a blog article documenting the construction of ACT's Strand theater. • Composed feature article highlighting the ACT costume design department through on-site interviews and photography. • Photographed set design of current productions from shop to the theater. ### Scenic Artist @ Williamstown Theatre Festival Jan 2013 – Jan 2013 | Williamstown, MA • Assisted Mainstage and Nikos stage scenic charges in scenic painting for all seven productions at WTF, fourteen hours a day, seven days a week. • Work included : back painting, backdrop measuring, stretching, starching, transferring, spraying, varnishing, touch-ups, scumbles, and airbrush stenciling wallpaper etc. ### Research Assistant @ Spatial History Lab Jan 2011 – Jan 2011 | Stanford, California • Designed project focus with Anthropology department PI and created the 'Cigarette Citadels' Bricolage visual history project. • Researched, located, and documented over 3000 previously hidden tobacco production facilities across the world. • Designed a data portrait visualization of cigarette factory architectural manifestations for the further discovery and exploration of the 'patterns' that exist within the industry to hide their presence. • Focused on the tobacco industry's physical environment with particular emphasis on the idea that it capitalizes on consumer addiction while evading culpability. ### Set Designer @ Spatial History Lab Jan 2011 – Jan 2011 | The Nitery Theater, Stanford • Designed, drafted, and painted scenery for Stanford Summer Theatre's Production and Re-imagining of Seneca's Oedipus. • Collaborated with the production department throughout set construction, material sourcing, and the show's director in establishing the vision and function of the set design. ### Artist-in-Residence Program Assistant and Researcher @ Exploratorium Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 • Compiled a complete database of assets for over 500 artists who worked with the Exploratorium's Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program. • Collaborated with Exploratorium in-house developer to design and populate a CMS for the persistent archiving, publishing, and promotion of artist works for the AIR program. • Assisted current artists-in-residence with their work and interactive exhibitions on the Exploratorium floor. • Sifted through and digitized ~50 years of dusty files and google archive to track down artists and assets who had worked with the program. ### Experience Designer (Spatial) @ Amour Vert Jan 2010 – Jan 2010 | San Francisco Bay Area • Collaborated with COO in the design of Amour Vert's first 'Magic Trade Show' booth and launch in Las Vegas. The booth drew unprecedented attention, garnered boutique adopters, and established persistent brand values through visual promise. • Sourced decor and assembled booth design in Las Vegas that optimized elegance in the small space and served as the brand ambassador within and without the convention. • Assisted CEO in Amour Vert's branding and identity development (logo, principles, swag, and signage). • Aided in the early production and development of brand assets and presence from 'SF Chic Fashion Week' to photoshoots for brand catalog (Golden Gate Park). ### Student Programming Assistant @ Iris & B.
