Guidance, Navigation, Control (GNC) Flight Simulator
• Was the owner and main contributor to development of a flight simulator used as the primary end-to-end testing platform for GNC validation of airship control systems
• Reduced iteration time for new features by enabling rapid development and testing in simulation prior to flight software integration
• Built middleware (C++17–Python bindings, X-Plane interfaces) to connect control systems with the simulation backend
• Improved testing workflows and cross-functional collaboration between GNC engineers and pilots through modular APIs and interactive GUI tools (PyQt/OpenGL)
Helium and Ballast Control System (HBCS)
• Contributed to HBCS, a safety-critical application managing fuel transfer, helium venting, and system state visualization for airship operations
• Enhanced UI state logic to enforce safe operational sequences by refining when actions are enabled/disabled, reducing risk of invalid pilot inputs
• Improved system observability by developing and standardizing logging, enabling more efficient debugging and issue diagnosis
• Diagnosed and resolved test failures using system logs, strengthening system reliability and stability
• Added unit tests and participated in on-airship deployment and testing, validating system behavior in real-world conditions
LiDAR Integration & Flight Test Systems
• Led LiDAR testing in lab environments, including setup and validation using test gas cells
• Owned integration and bring-up of LiDAR systems across lab and on-airship environments
• Integrated and validated telemetry systems (FTR) to support real-time flight test operations
• Diagnosed and resolved system-level issues during testing, ensuring reliable operation across subsystems
