Initially when Smarsh acquired Digital Safe I continued with my responsibilities outlined below. In June 2022 I also joined a Smarsh scrum team to help them start up a front-end unification initiative for the entire company. It took the form of a common design system that hosted Angular components.

### Software Developer II @ Micro Focus

At Micro Focus I was working as a full stack developer on Digital Safe which is a solution that provides secure compliant archiving for modern electronic communication.

During my time working on Digital Safe I  have helped transform our inhouse legacy UI into a modern Angular (12+) app. It started as a proof of concept in October 2019 by a senior engineer and myself and since then the PoC has turned into a full fledged UI. It has become one of the main selling points of the entire product as it has helped us differentiate ourselves from our competitors. It is built using Angular with the help of NgRx for state management and RxJS for handling asynchronous data.

Furthermore my role also included developing and maintaining our mainly Maven Java back-end which included duties such as both creating and upgrading API’s.

### Intern Developer @ Kingfisher plc

The main portion of the internship was front-end website development using Angular 2. I was directly inserted with one of the scrum teams developing https://www.diy.com/ and became a useful asset during my internship. I was also exposed to REST API development in Node.js and the nosql database MongoDB.
