# Vinay Shah > Building Experimentation at Amazon Location: San Francisco, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/vinayshah I am currently a Software Engineer working at Amazon. I am in a constant pursuit of knowledge and I love a new challenge. Whether it is designing a new type of "white-cane" for the blind, or developing a web-extension to summarize and score privacy policies; I am passionate about finding real world problems, and finding new ways to solve them. I enjoy appreciating beautiful design, and strive to make my work accessible and intuitive to use. When I am not working, I am busy exploring and adventuring! I love to bike, boulder and slackline. If I'm not at home, you can usually find me training at the nearest bouldering gym. Feel free to connect with me, and reach out to me with any projects and ideas! ## Work Experience ### Software Development Engineer II @ Amazon Jan 2021 – Present | Seattle, Washington, United States Working on A/B experimentation at Amazon. I work on our C++ client that we vend to over 100,000 hosts, and manage a service that handles the scale of 100 billion requests per day. ### Software Engineer @ Amazon Jan 2020 – Jan 2021 | Greater Seattle Area ### Technical Lead @ PrivacyCheck Jan 2019 – Jan 2020 | Austin, Texas Area Digital privacy is a freedom that all of us value, but many corporations abuse. Corporations do not tell you right away what information is being tracked, and who else has access to this data. They protect themselves by creating long legal documents like privacy policies, that the average user has no idea how to interpret. PrivacyCheck aims to solve this issue of misinformation in today's age. PrivacyCheck is a browser extension available for download on Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. It scan's through a privacy policy and uses machine learning to determine how well the policy protects your data. I serve as the Technical Lead for a 6 person team, and we are currently working on rolling out a brand new version of PrivacyCheck to make it even better! PrivacyCheck was built entirely using React.js to service the front-end; AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and AWS API Gateway, and S3 to service the back-end.
