Bachelor's thesis on "Performance of Equal Gain Combining in the presence of AWGN".
The thesis was done as a part of the Dynamic Adaptable Applications for Bats Tracking by Embedded Communicating Systems (BATS) project. This project aims to develop a Wireless Sensor Network that would help biologists study the foraging behaviour of bats. In order to improve the reliability of the communication system, I performed Equal Gain Combining on the system (implemented in GNU Radio) and could verify that diversity combining at signal level gave a higher output SNR than when combined at baseband level. Signal level combining had slightly higher system complexity than baseband level combining but, because of the better results, it would be incorporated in further implementations of the BATS project.
