Through stakeholder and user interviews, I gathered user needs, pain points, constraints and business opportunities. I evaluated and tested models for intelligent interruptions in Excel. Using a rapid iteration process, I created prototypes to run usability tests and gathered user feedback to improve the product experience. I presented to stakeholders from Excel feature teams to evaluate proposed solutions and identify integration opportunities. During the internship, I also volunteered at the Microsoft Business Applications Summit, to showcase new intelligent features in Excel, and connect with customers (IT managers, data analysts, consultants) and learn about their data challenges. ### User Experience Designer Intern @ Microsoft Jan 2017 – Jan 2017 | Redmond, WA I worked on the Office Platform Extensibility team, and led the design and research for customized Office experiences for frontline retail workers. I conducted ethnographic research through interviews and field visits at Microsoft Retail Stores and Retail HQ, and collaborated with stakeholders in Office Marketing and Business to understand customer scenarios in the retail sector. After synthesizing research findings, I identified the opportunity to streamline task tracking among store managers and associates, by integrating Excel with Microsoft Teams, a workplace chat and productivity platform. I created the prototype for a Microsoft Teams Excel add-in, and conducted usability studies to validate the design solution. ### UI/UX Designer at FlipWord @ EverMem, Inc. (FlipWord) Jan 2016 – Jan 2016 | Palo Alto Helped to conduct user research and design interfaces at a small startup which launched a Chrome extension for language learning while web browsing.
