At PayPal's Braintree organization, I lead design, implementation, and maintenance of critical backend systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. I also drive architectural decisions and contribute to technical roadmaps for PayPal’s Treasury and Braintree integrations. Ensuring best practices for CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, and code quality is core to my job, which is especially important for a large, legacy code base that has global reach.
I am on the official on-call rotation to support the application's many moving parts, responding to emergencies and any job failures in real time to ensure money movement is not interrupted and clients and customers see no disruption to their services. All of this requires deep understanding of financial transaction systems, security, and compliance.
Most recently I have integrated AI agents and MCPs into my development lifecycle, to build and use for Braintree's specific context.
Additionally, I spend some of my time mentoring and supporting junior engineers and interns with code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance.
