• Citizen is building the leading mobile safety platform, connecting 10 million people to safety insights and resources.

• Joined right after Series A, grew engineering from a team of 4 contractor types to 50+ with FAAMG type backgrounds. Teams spanned growth, mobile, backend, web, video, hardware, and machine learning.

• Built and led the data science practice from zero to 8 data scientists and user researchers, transforming our product development process from being intuition driven to informed by data and user feedback

• Hired as the first engineer in Square's NYC office to recruit and manage a team, growing our east coast presence

• Ultimately recruited and led multiple product engineering teams spanning ~25 engineers. We rebuilt the core merchant representation allowing Square to support growing merchants with multiple locations, in the process building the highest growing SaaS product within Square at the time. Was the overall engineering lead responsible for Square's push into the Retail vertical, which included building an entirely new point of sale app on iOS.

• I joined Tumblr right before our largest surge in growth. We had one engineer per billion page views a month before cloud services, so we managed our infrastructure directly. This environment was a great crash course in building highly scalable infrastructure in C and Scala. I was the tech lead responsible for rebuilding and scaling the data processing infrastructure and making the flow for creating new posts scale to thousands per second.
