# William Su > Aerospace Undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin Location: Dublin, California, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/williamsu Recent advances in rocket development represent nothing less than a monumental breakthrough on humanity's journey to the stars. As an aspiring aerospace undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin, I hope to be part of this change by working with aerospace structures in the form of computer analysis and design to help propel humanity to other worlds. Through working with organizations such as the Longhorn Rocketry Association and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in positions such as a research and chief engineer, I hope to do just that. ## Work Experience ### Aerospace Engineer @ Longhorn Rocketry Association Jan 2025 – Present | Austin, TX Advanced Research Engineer for Mechanical Hardware Section of the Longhorn Rocketry Association. Used CAD to design airbrake systems along with CFD and FEA to test and model the airbrake system during compressible flight. Used 3D printing with various filaments and settings to optimize durability, size, and weight. ### Chief Engineer @ AIAA Student Chapter at the University of Texas at Austin Jan 2025 – Present | Austin, TX The Chief Engineer for UT Austin's AIAA Aircraft Design Competition Bureau. Manage development logistics, timetables, and design decisions concerning the aircraft proposal to replace the Navy's F/A-18 Hornet. Working with ANSYS CFD and FEA along with Fusion CAD to develop and rigorously test a design proposal for this challenge. ## Education ### Aerospace in Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering The University of Texas at Austin ### Dublin High School ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/william-su-a749ab313 - Portfolio: https://sites.google.com/view/williamsu-projectportfolio/about-me --- Source: https://flows.cv/williamsu JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/williamsu/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-10
