Lead the Product Design Engineering and Industrial Design teams in designing new vehicles and components produced at scale for lightweight, electric rideshare fleets deployed in more than 250 cities around the world. Managing two managers.
• Oversee designers and engineers working on multiple concurrent projects, leading creative and technical delivery, resource allocation, project goal-setting and personal growth.
• Collaborate with leaders in Product Management and Engineering Program Management to define product and engineering requirements, program schedules and create project documentation.
• Lead sustainable design practices in the HW team, including Concept Phase LCAs, and development of lightweight project LCA tools to identify carbon impacts during our design work.
• Build project tracking tools for mechanical engineering teams, and built project schedules to synchronize utilization across three teams (15 people) to create clear ownership, milestones and deliverables.
• Contribute to program planning and technical delivery of Next-Gen bicycle design from concept to production.
• Develop concepts and mechanical architecture for new parts and vehicles using CAD, prototyping, FEA simulation, DFMEA, DFM, and GD&T best practices working with ID, EE, Reliability, Supply Chain, and overseas vendors.
