I owned a critical service that monitors network connectivity for Amazon EC2, in particular: ➢ redesigned and implemented its core component that computes the optimal placement of monitoring nodes across EC2 data centers, significantly improving its network coverage while reducing worldwide operating cost of the service by 50%, which is 15 millions of dollars a year ➢ implemented various health metrics for the service itself, serving as the service's daily operational metrics and facilitating automated deployment ➢ improved the usability of the UI by reducing dashboard load time by a factor of up to thirty and introducing additional views and data to help troubleshooting of network connectivity issues ➢ responsible for operational duties, daily maintenance, and launch of the service in new AWS regions I also worked on a network jitter monitoring service, roll it out to various AWS regions, and maintained a variant of it to monitor network latency for EC2 instances with Enhanced Networking feature.
