I joined Mavenir in April 2019 to embark on the Open RAN journey, establishing the company’s Beijing R&D Center from zero to over 200 engineers and building a world-class 5G RAN development organization driving innovation across baseband, radio, and system integration. I created a full-stack organization spanning program management, system architecture, baseband software, RU hardware and software design, mechanical engineering, and system testing — enabling end-to-end product development from FR1 (2TR, 4TR, 32TR, 64TR Massive MIMO) to FR2 mmWave.
Under my leadership, the team delivered Distributed Unit (DU) and Radio Unit (RU) products, achieving Mavenir’s first NSA Sub-6 Open RAN call — a major milestone for both the company and the global Open RAN ecosystem. I also led in-house mmWave product development and integration, driving joint field trials with Telstra, and collaborations with operators across Japan, India, the U.S., and the EU.
We built strong partnerships with RU vendors including NEC, Fujitsu, Sunwave, and Foxconn, while deepening collaboration with Intel (FlexRAN) and NVIDIA (CUDA Aerial) for next-generation platform acceleration and AI-enabled RAN innovation.
