I led stand-alone (SA) mmWave product development and engineering, driving the full lifecycle from roadmap definition and system architecture to design, validation, and customer engagement. Our team enhanced system capacity to 800 MHz bandwidth and 10 Gbps throughput, extending coverage to 5 km, with pre-commercial deployments across India, the EU, the U.S.. Collaborated with the University of Utah’s POWDER team, we validated our O-RAN 5G mmWave SA solution in over-the-air testing, marking a key milestone in demonstrating real-world performance and scalability of Open RAN mmWave networks. As the pilot lead for Mavenir’s AI-for-RAN initiative, I collaborated with ecosystem partners to integrate machine learning models into 5G Massive MIMO beamforming optimization, improving multi-user throughput by up to 35% through data-driven channel estimation — results showcased at Mobile World Congress 2025. ### Associate Vice President, 5G Open RAN Development. General Manager, Beijing @ Mavenir Jan 2022 – Jan 2023 | Beijing, China I joined Mavenir in April 2019 to embark on the Open RAN journey, establishing the company’s Beijing R&D Center from zero to over 200 engineers and building a world-class 5G RAN development organization driving innovation across baseband, radio, and system integration. I created a full-stack organization spanning program management, system architecture, baseband software, RU hardware and software design, mechanical engineering, and system testing — enabling end-to-end product development from FR1 (2TR, 4TR, 32TR, 64TR Massive MIMO) to FR2 mmWave. Under my leadership, the team delivered Distributed Unit (DU) and Radio Unit (RU) products, achieving Mavenir’s first NSA Sub-6 Open RAN call — a major milestone for both the company and the global Open RAN ecosystem. As technical leader, I led the integration of Ericsson’s baseband software with the ENEA OSE real-time operating system, a rewarding experience that expanded my expertise from L1 and PHY to system-level software architecture. Ltd. Jan 2008 – Jan 2011 | Beijing I joined New Postcom, a fast-moving startup building one of the earliest 4G TDD-LTE base stations in China. As the technical lead for baseband software, I helped drive the full product lifecycle — from algorithm design and Matlab simulation to embedded coding, system integration, and field validation. Working in a true startup-from-scratch environment, I led efforts to optimize PHY performance and cost efficiency, translating algorithm concepts into working prototypes through fixed-point simulations and DSP implementation. We integrated Radio Units with Keysight and Rohde & Schwarz instruments for RF testing and end-to-end performance validation. Our team successfully completed pre-commercial rollouts in China Mobile’s Shunyi test field, taking the system from design to field optimization and KPI tuning. Our solution achieved ~5% market share in China Mobile’s TDD LTE deployment — a major milestone for a young startup. ### L1/PHY Software Design Engineer 3G TD-SCDMA @ Datang Mobile Jan 2005 – Jan 2008 | Beijing I began my career building the physical layer software for China’s first 3G TD-SCDMA networks. Working on TI and Freescale DSPs, I contributed to key L1 components such as Smart Antenna and Joint Detection modules using Matlab, C, and Assembly, on top of RTOS. Beyond coding, I focused on low-level driver and assembly optimization to squeeze every bit of performance from the hardware — cutting cost and increasing system capacity.
