I find satisfaction in doing a good job and having pride in the projects that I work on.  I aim to do things to the best of my ability, and when I’m lacking, I’m willing to learn what is needed.  I’m not picky about technologies.  Learning and adapting is part of the job, but at the same time I’m no the kind of person who chases new things just because they’re new or popular.  Similarly, I value communication with my team and learning from my co-workers.  I’m not shy about sharing my opinion; on the flipside, I’m also willing to consider what my peers say.  Overall, that’s what being professional means to me, good communication and a steady commitment to quality.

## Work Experience
### Senior Software Engineer @ General Dynamics Mission Systems
Jan 2019 – Jan 2022
 One of the main contributors on a 2+ year long contract with a small team (2-8 people at any given time)
 Front End responsibilities:
o Website development using native elements, Material-UI components, and CSS3.
o Primarily React based, using both MVC and MVVM design patterns with some D3.js visualizations.
o Tackled challenges such as user file management, data validation, error feedback, and data requests
from 3rd party APIs (both RESTful and GraphQL).
 Back End responsibilities:
o Java Spring was used to handle requests (Spring MVC), query DB (Spring Data), and do extra
processing (Spring Stream).
o The database was MongoDB, and we primarily used JSON in messages.
o Business logic was kept in a service layer in the Spring project.
o Large and/or specialized tasks were developed as separate project as needed.
 DevOps responsibilities:
o Had an external team create a CI/CD pipeline in Gitlab and do deployments.
o “Kept the pipeline running” by configuring dockerfiles, addressing security issues (identified with
fortify), writing/fixing automated testing (unit and integration with 90% code coverage), and
following best practices (SonarQube).

 Automated testing consultant for an Angular-.NET-MSDB based project, deployed on amazon cloud..
 Responsible for unit testing, integration testing, validation, regression testing, and performance testing.
 Diagnosed issues in TeamCity CI/CD pipeline.

 Created test cases and test data using medical record encoding.
 Wrote metrics that calculated provider performance from medical records.

### Quality Assurance Engineer @ Wombat Security Inc.
Jan 2014 – Jan 2015
Wombat developed cybersecurity training programs and mock phishing.  I had a mostly manual testing role but was able to contribute some automated selenium-based test, too.  Learned a lot about Agile and Cybersecurity, and about the challenges of localizing to different languages.

Doctor Ibrahim worked on improving high field MRI and used computer simulations to determine if his ideas would work.  I queued up those simulations in person from the supercomputer room.  I made two major contributions to the codebase, one to fix a rng seeding bug (at the time MATLAB reset the seed to the same value every startup), and another to restructure the codebase to make better use of parallelization.
