# Yash Shah > Software Controls Engineer at JENSEN Braun LLC. Location: Syracuse, New York, United States Profile: https://flows.cv/yashshah4 Controls & Automation Engineer with a background that spans robotics, embedded systems, and industrial controls. Early on, I built Python GUI tools for remote-control forklift operation over CAN at The Raymond Corporation, implemented V2V communication using ROS and Raspberry Pi for a robotics research project at RIT, and worked with GSM-based remote monitoring and sensor-driven irrigation control. Today, at G.A. Braun, I work across PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, and motion control — focused on reliability, safety, and clean implementation. I have hands-on experience with B&R Automation Studio including autotuning servo motors, Yaskawa VFDs for induction motor control, and a range of industrial I/O devices including proximity sensors, photoeyes, pneumatics, and Clearpath motors. Day-to-day, I handle logic modifications, troubleshooting, and Engineering Change Requests — digging into legacy code, understanding machine behavior, and making targeted updates without breaking what already works. I enjoy working at the intersection of controls software, motion hardware, and real-world machine behavior. ## Work Experience ### Software Controls Engineer @ JENSEN Braun Jan 2025 – Present | Syracuse, New York, United States ### Software Controls Engineer @ JENSEN Braun Jan 2024 – Jan 2026 | Syracuse, New York, United States ### Electrical Systems Engineer CO-OP. @ The Raymond Corporation Jan 2023 – Jan 2023 | Greene, New York, United States • CPU’s thermal analysis of the embedded monitor that’s used on the forklifts. Attached multiple types of heat sinks and compared the results to find the best solution to the heating problems. • Developed a Python (TKinter GUI) script with CAN library to make the forklift remote control, using FORT robotics devices. • Analysed CAN traces for abnormalities among PDO timings. • Made relay connections for a development project which had Curtis Instrument’s motor controllers, traction and steer motors, and many other Forklift specific electronics. • Developed a Python GUI (PySimpleGUI) to switch and control multiple types of forklifts using CANopen communication. • Designed and Developed a microcontroller controled RGB LED strip light to be used on forklifts. ### Robotics Engineer CO-OP @ Rochester Institute of Technology Jan 2022 – Jan 2022 | Rochester, New York, United States Research Assistant Co-op at the Industrial and Systems Engineering department at RIT. • The team is developing an intelligent materials handling system for warehouses that integrates smart technologies including LiDAR sensors and artificial intelligence. • I was responsible for the Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication (forklift to forklift) using ROS and Raspberry Pi boards for providing the network. • Developed 3 scenarios where in o 2 robots would be on path of collision with each other but would then stop at a distance. This was done using the odometry data from the robots and communicating it with each other. o The robots would be approaching each other on a blind corner and one of them would stop to let the other one continues its path. If the robot is obstructing the path of the other robot then the other robot would go around. o One robot following the other robot in a straight line. ## Education ### Master's degree in Computer Engineering Rochester Institute of Technology Jan 2021 – Jan 2023 ### Bachelor of Engineering - BE in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering Jan 2017 – Jan 2021 ## Contact & Social - LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/yash-shah-358269184 --- Source: https://flows.cv/yashshah4 JSON Resume: https://flows.cv/yashshah4/resume.json Last updated: 2026-04-01
