- Engaged in initial planning of app including concept drafting, MVP feature design and tech stack selection.
- Setup MVC structure leveraging React/Redux and firebase as data storage.
- Developed CRUD operations and scalable components for user/trip/expense collections.
- Integrated Google Maps, PlaceService, OpenWeather, and Unsplash APIs to enrich destination information.
- Leveraged AWS S3 for receipt image storage imposing a file size limit and file compression to reduce latency and storage cost, as well as creating Firebase cloud functions to upload and delete files while protecting the API key and streamlining AWS API interaction through server side programming.
- Implemented responsive design for varying screen sizes for a fluid user experience.
