I am a product-focused software engineer. My goal is to develop a high-quality end product for users, and help others on my team grow into confident and competent engineers. I love developing internal tools to improve developer experience and reduce friction in building our systems.
I worked on the Shelf Engine mobile app and data ingestion pipeline.
Our app enables our Inventory Specialists to accurately and easily submit inventory records for grocery stores around the US. My responsibilities include:
•
Design UX and implement core product features for front end using React Native and Redux.
•
Design and implement back end APIs within an event-driven architecture built with .NET and running on Azure.
Our data ingestion pipeline takes thousands of files per week from grocers, all with disparate and inconsistent formatting, and transforms them to be used by our demand forecasting AI. My responsibilities include:
•
Improving monitoring and observability using Datadog
•
Restructuring legacy code to be more testable, observable, and easier to reason about
•
Reducing manual maintenance of the hundreds of ingest configurations per grocer and their retailer locations
I worked on the Digital Personalization team to surface magazine and manga recommendations to customers on the retail website. I used Spark and EMR to generate large-scale data transformations to optimize our product similarity builds. I spearheaded an automation tool suite to save engineers from manual work in the legacy systems in Personalization.
I implemented and launched core features and functionality of the backend API for AWS Resource Groups service. I wrote infrastructure for our serverless Lambda-based architecture using CloudFormation and constructed CD pipelines for our service deployments.
