I create names, titles, domain names, slogans, and taglines for anything that needs a name, a title, a slogan or a tagline. I ideate and formalize new names that capture attention and convey the essence of the product or service. I research and vet generated names to ensure no collisions with existing names and to ensure cultural and linguistic sensitivity in the target markets and demographics. I also develop naming systems for use by internal teams in technical product development that accelerate productivity and minimize errors. I wrote and published two illustrated children’s books which are now available on Amazon and Apple Books. For those books I served as art director and supervised character designs, approved storyboards, guided and approved image composition, selected fonts, designed title pages, and approved final illustrations. I created the final book layouts in Adobe InDesign. Jan 2013 – Jan 2017 | San Jose, California, United States I designed and prototyped products to solve common household and personal problems. I used MCAD software (Dassault Systems SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion36) to create accurate 3D models of the products and prepare them for prototyping and manufacturing. I used various 3D printing methods (SLA, FDM, multijet modeling) to construct physical prototypes of the designs. Various 3D scanning methods were used to inspect and validate the prototype designs, as well as to reverse engineer competing products. After the products were prototyped and the designs finalized, they were manufactured using various manufacturing techniques (injection molding, CNC machining, production 3D printing). ### Product Manager @ IDT - Integrated Device Technology, Inc. Jan 2010 – Jan 2013 | San Jose, CA IDT brought me in to create business and product strategy for new power management product lines and to grow the revenue for the company. I invented a new market category for SSD power, helped establish IDT as the leader in that category, and I was directly responsible for growing IDT's total revenue by 3% by way of the products I defined and shipped. I created a new product line from scratch and built it up into a sustainable business. I studied the overall markets, I met with end customers to evaluate needs, I analyzed their problems, and then I extrapolated and distilled those insights into roadmaps and definitions of new products that would be highly profitable. I worked with the engineering teams to launch those products into development, supervised the development to keep the products on spec and on cost, and then facilitated the release of those products to market to generate revenue. I wrote product datasheets, created marketing materials and defined go-to-market strategies, supported existing customers, and provided training to internal and external sales teams. In parallel I engaged other vendors and manufacturers to develop business relationships and partnerships that would be synergistic with IDT's products. ### Founder and Fine Art Photographer @ SurrealScapes Jan 2007 – Jan 2013 I started a venture to produce bodypainting and bodyart conceptual and fine art photography. I hired models to use as living canvases upon which I created body paintings and then photographed. I also used image projection techniques to project slides onto the models' bodies and photographed that. Everything was done in camera with no post image editing used to achieve the final results. I created images for sale as prints and for use as stock imagery. I designed a custom deck of playing cards using SurrealScapes imagery, I published a collection of photography, and I published a coloring book with hand-drawn illustrations derived from SurrealScapes photos. ### Co-founder and Product Manager @ emPOWER Jan 2009 – Jan 2010 | San Jose, California, United States I co-founded a startup with three other people to solve problems with server power consumption in datacenters. We were looking to make chips and software that allowed the computing elements of a server to communicate with the power management system and rearrange workloads within a server or across servers so that the power supplies of the servers would always be in their most efficient regime of operation. The important metric was CPU performance per watt and our solutions were intended to help datacenter operators to maximize that metric. (This is not the same as Empower Semiconductor, which is a different company that was founded in 2014.) ### Market Segment Manager @ Freescale Jan 2007 – Jan 2009 | Milpitas, CA Freescale was building up a new power management group when I was brought in. My job was to create a new business and define a new product strategy for power products to complement Freescale's existing processor business and to grow revenue for the division, and to create and executing a marketing plan to promote those new products.
